bigger pics ?

hahah....the first big image of my blog - one taken by the good ol iphone, when shamus was miserably e-collared. poor guy. loudest week of my life from all the banging of the damn thing into furniture. and now he has allergies, and has been itching so bad the vet had the nerve to suggest putting this thing on him again. are you kidding me? sorry, dr. charlie.

    So... Tyson used to itch all the time and the vet made me buy some allergy medicine for him. I started doing research and figured out that A LOT of dogs are alergic to either grain, corn, soy... and then actually chicken (especially labs). so I changed up his food- he is now on either lamb, fish or beef based food and made sure it doesn't have any grains in it. And Alas! no allergies. And the one time I bought a bag of chicken based food- he started scratching again. So now I know. He is on the Wellness brand right now and it has been great so far.

    Also, the wellness brand is more expensive, but if you look at the serving sizes compared to other brands they are lower because it is pretty nutrient packed... so it lasts longer. That is my justification. Also, Petco does a promotion if you buy 10 bags of the same brand, your 11 th is free. So that helps.
    PPS- (sorry for the all the info) if you do switch foods, make sure to gradually change them over. We made the mistake of not and Tyson had explosive diarreah in the middle of the night.
